pinkflats The lady sure loves her drama.... Aug 15, 2008 8:04 PM ...well in her wardrobe that is. My lovely friends I would like you to meet the fashion editor of Vouge Nippon, the uber-chic Ms. Anna Della Russo. If you are an avid Satorialist reader than I bet you are somewhat familiar with her photos on Scott's blog. (She's a Sartorialist super All-Star.) But I don't blame Scott and his readers salivating over her divine sense of style. She doesn't shy away from bold colors, stark contrast and very black-less back. She has that certain elegance and confidence that I wish to have when I'm older, and her choice of clothing fits well with her chic aura. But I love how in these photos she either has her straight down or pinned up in a bun, which works well with her dramatic tendency to fashion. Her choice of footwear should be drooled over as well. With a name like that also, she sure makes the perfect fashion plate.

pinkflats A classic portrait of a young man. Aug 5, 2008 3:21 PM Posted on August 2, 2008, taken in the streets of Paris, France. God, every time I scroll past this photo it always takes my breath away. There just something about the photograph that is angelic and timeless. One thing that I've noticed about Scott is that he has evolved to become a really great portrait photographer, and I think this one is one of his finest work. Of course much praise has to be given to the young man for being so confident to leave his red hair alone the way it is. Along with his plain, white shirt, he isn't afraid to have his beautiful red locks as the focal point of his look. In a way, his curly, red hair is his fashion statement, his style signature. Just imagine running your fingers through it.
pinkflats Three different shades of blue. Aug 4, 2008 8:21 PM The woman below, according to the comments in Scott's blog, is Bonnie Morrison, who works PR for US "Men's Vogue." Well then, that would wonderfully explain why she's just effortlessly chic. I mean you have to be to land a gig in one the magazine industry respected publication, right? Here are three looks of Ms. Morrison in three different shades of blue, starting with my favorite of the three: Photo #1 The reason why this one is my favorite is for the fact that she was wearing three of my favorite clothing pieces that I have donned before all together as well: a full, printed skirt, a blue button-down polo and a "grandpa's cardigan." I just love the whole look. Other than that, I love how she decided to wore a mix of accessories and clothing yet being able to accomplish the hard task of owning the clothes/accessories not the other way around. She looked very casual, which is unexpected because of the very expensive-looking necklace that gave her outfit glamour; the ponytail also helped at creating the casual look. And how nice it is to see someone wear anything besides pumps. Photo #2 I really enjoyed this whole ensemble. It looked like something that could appear on a fashion runway, but Ms. Morrison made it accessible for us ladies to use for our next wardrobe inspiration. I like the combination of toughness (and yeah that icy glare helps, lol) and 70s fashion. Photo #3 I adore the color selection here, especially the splash of the fuchsia (or is it magenta?) belt around her waist. I like that the print of the lovely dress is not your typical polka-dot dress. All in all, I love her lack of makeup and her different choices of necklaces she wore in each photo. The photos were posted on Scott's The Sartorialist blog together, which I appreciated because I was able to see one person in different outfits. It just showed that that person isn't just "a one-hit wonder." Lastly Ms. Morrison is an American woman walking around Milan and Paris, giving the European women a definite run for their money. The photos were posted on Jule 28, 2008 taken in Paris and Milan.
syako spin cycle --- syako style Apr 30, 2008 12:12 PM When I read pink's suggestion about being inspired by the Sart's subjects, I knew I'd have to post this look. I posted it a few months back in the Looks Inspired by Celebrity group , but I realize it's ultimate home should be here. When Scott was doing daily pictures during the Fashion weeks on Style.com I checked his section every day because I was more interested in what the attendees were wearing than what was on the catwalk. I like to see fashion translated. So here's my take on a look by Vogue editor (Valerie Bolster) Photo from TheSartorialist.com If you want to see what I'm wearing, go to the look book entry - http://teamsugar.com/look/1051425
